Microsoft 365, set up and looked after

We set Microsoft 365 up for your organisation, help you choose the right licence for each person, and look after the accounts, SharePoint and Teams from then on.

What we do

  • Setup of accounts, mailboxes and licences
  • Guidance on which licence each person needs
  • Staff set up when they join, closed off when they leave
  • SharePoint and Teams organised and supported

Setup, administration and support

Microsoft runs the service. Setting it up for your organisation and looking after the accounts as people join and leave is the part we take care of.

  • Setup

Your domain, mailboxes, shared mailboxes and licences set up, with staff computers connected to their accounts. A move from an older email system is planned and quoted in writing before work starts.

  • Administration

New staff set up with the right access, and accounts closed off when someone leaves. Shared mailboxes, distribution groups and permissions changed when you ask.

  • Support

Help when Outlook, Teams, OneDrive or SharePoint is not behaving as expected, through the same helpdesk as the rest of your IT support.

The right licence for each person

Not everyone needs the same plan. We work out which licence each person needs, what you are paying for now, and which licences can be removed when someone leaves.

Microsoft’s business plans, broadly

  1. Email, with the web and mobile versions of the Office applications
  2. Adds the desktop Office applications
  3. Adds further security and device management features

SharePoint and Teams, organised so that people can find things

On a Microsoft 365 business plan you most likely have both already. The usual difficulty is structure rather than technology: more Teams than anyone can navigate, and the same file kept in several places.

We help you settle a structure that matches how your organisation works, set up the sites and Teams with sensible access, and support staff as they use them.

OneDrive
Each person’s own files.
SharePoint
The organisation’s files: one copy of each document, with its full history, that two people can work in at once.
Teams
Chat and meetings, with the Team’s files stored in SharePoint.

Questions about Microsoft 365

Which Microsoft 365 plan should we be on?

It comes down to whether staff need the desktop Office applications, whether you need the additional security and device management features, and whether some people need little more than email. Mixing licences across an organisation is normal.

Can you take over a Microsoft 365 tenancy someone else set up?

Yes. We start by looking at how it has been set up, including the licences, the mailboxes and who has access to what, and talk it through with you before anything is changed.

Can SharePoint replace our shared network drive?

Often, yes, and the files can be synchronised so that they still appear in Windows File Explorer, with version history behind them. The exceptions are specialist applications that need a traditional file path, such as some CAD and engineering packages.
